Mental Health Matters
What is Mental Health?
The World Health Organization defines mental health as a ''state of well-being allowing everyone to recognize their own abilities, to realize themselves, to overcome daily normal tensions, to be productive, successful and contribute to the life of its community.''
According to the WHO definition, we can all be affected, one way or another by things that seem insignificant and thus have mental health problems.
These problems can result in depression, anxiety, negative thoughts and many other troubles. They are as significant as a physical injury. Yet, today still, mental health is a taboo subject. It's an issue that needs to be addressed. It is therefore important to educate people about mental illness, to truly support those who are affected by those kind of troubles and above all, to remain objective towards them.
We are not psychologists, we are just two young women studying engineering and neurosciences who truly care about psychogenic health. For this reason, we created this website in the hope of popularizing the common aspects of life on the human brain. People need to be aware of them; our mental health matters #MMHM.
It is important to know that we are not alone. Whether it's your parents, friends, teachers or collegues: your entourage is here for you. Talking to someone about your problems can truly be of a relief for you.
